August 2006 Editor Lloyd Vance was in Canton, Ohio for the Hall of Fame induction ceremonies and he personally congratulated Warren Moon at the stage.  Moon was very eloquent in his speech, talking about his long journey going from the University of Washington (Rose Bowl MVP in 1978) to Unwanted NFL Draft Prospect to the CFL's Edmonton Eskimoes (5 Grey Cups) to the NFL (Houston, Minnesota, Seattle, and KC) and then finally the Hall of Fame.

Moon thanked his family, coaches, fans, and former Black Quarterbacks Willie Thrower, Marlin Briscoe, and James Harris for paving the way for him and other African American QB's.

Moon during his NFL career, threw for more than 49,000 yards with 391 touchdowns including a NFL Record four -  4,000 yard passing seasons. He finished with more completions, passing yards, and touchdowns than anyone if you combine his CFL and NFL numbers (70,553 yards and 435 touchdowns).
